Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that over the past week Russian forces have launched more than 1,700 attack drones, more than 1,380 guided aerial bombs, and 69 missiles of various types at Ukraine. “The main targets Russia is striking now are our energy sector, critical infrastructure, and residential buildings,” he wrote on his Telegram channel, stressing the importance of supplying Ukraine with missiles for air defense systems.
After Saturday’s Russian attack on Kyiv, 1,676 apartment buildings remain without heating, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. He added that the January 24 attack left nearly six thousand buildings without heat in total — most of them had already been reconnected or attempts had been made to reconnect them to the heating system after shelling on January 9 and 20, according to Current Time.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on Sunday night Russian forces launched 102 drones and two missiles at Ukraine. Eighty-seven drones were neutralized. “Fifteen strike drones hit targets at ten locations, and debris from downed drones fell at one location,” the military said.
On the night of Sunday, January 25, Russian forces also carried out an artillery strike on Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, damaging an apartment building and a gas pipeline, said regional administration head Oleksandr Hanzha. In the Nikopol district, an infrastructure facility, private houses, as well as power lines and gas pipelines were damaged as a result of the attack.
