The French company EOS Technologie has supplied Ukraine with a small number of Rodeur 330 strike drones, which have a flight range of up to 500 km and can remain in the air for five hours.
This was reported by the news agency Agence France-Presse, citing France 24.
The company’s CEO, Jean-Marc Zouliani, said that for Western manufacturers, providing drones to Ukraine is an opportunity to test them in real combat conditions. According to him, Ukrainians have gained “unique experience in the world” during the war.
According to the manufacturer, the Rodeur 330 can be assembled by two operators in less than 10 minutes and can stay airborne for up to five hours. It has a top speed of up to 120 km/h and can climb to an altitude of up to 5,000 meters, Ukrainian outlet NV reports.
Zouliani said the drones can be used both for strike missions and for reconnaissance operations. As he put it, Europe could use them “as a shield,” while Ukraine could use them “as a sword.”
Ukrainian authorities have previously said that drones with a much longer range than 500 kilometers have already been developed and are being produced in the country. They have been used, among other things, for strikes deep inside Russian territory.
