City of Kaspiysk in Dagestan hit by drone attack

Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Kaspiysk overnight on 1 December, according to Dagestan head Sergei Melikov. He did not provide details about the drone strike, saying only that emergency services were working at the scene. In its morning report on downed Ukrainian drones, the Russian Ministry of Defense did not mention Dagestan.

Local residents reported explosions. Astra analyzed footage from eyewitnesses and concluded that the attack damaged windows in a residential high-rise building and cars in a parking lot. Local media wrote that the Dagdizel plant is located near the site of the attack, but according to the outlet’s calculations, the high-rise is about 3.5 kilometers away from the plant in a straight line.

The Baza Telegram channel, which is close to law enforcement agencies, reported that a 12-year-old girl was injured in the explosion: she sustained a minor non-penetrating chest wound, and her life is not in danger.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the attack.

On the morning of 1 December, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that it had shot down 32 Ukrainian drones over 11 regions and the Sea of Azov overnight, according to Current Time.
