During the night of 19 November, Russia attacked Kharkiv with 18 Shahed drones. According to emergency services, several fires broke out in the city and multiple buildings were damaged, UNIAN reported at 07:07.
It is known that one of the drones hit a residential high-rise building and a Silpo supermarket. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that 32 people have been injured so far, including two children aged 9 and 13, as well as an 18-year-old woman.
An explosion also occurred near one of the city’s medical facilities. Preliminary reports indicate that a doctor was injured there.
A nationwide air-raid alert was declared across Ukraine on the morning of 19 November after five MiG-31K aircraft took off from the Savasleyka airbase in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Missile impact is expected within 60–90 minutes, around 9 a.m.
Monitoring channels also report launches of Kinzhal missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers.
At 07:15, UNIAN reported that Poland scrambled its air force in response to the attack on Ukraine. According to the Air Force, Russian drones and missiles are heading primarily toward western Ukraine. Authorities in the Lviv region urged residents not to post any photos or videos of possible impacts online.
