Oil-loading facilities at the port of Novorossiysk came under drone attack during the night of 14 November. Local authorities declared a state of emergency in the city. According to Reuters, Transneft has suspended the pumping of oil to the port.
The Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai reported on the morning of 14 November that an oil depot at the Sheskharis transshipment complex had been damaged, and that debris from drones had fallen on residential apartment buildings. It was also clarified that debris damaged one of the civilian vessels in the port, injuring three crew members.
Later, local authorities officially introduced a state of emergency in the city. Mayor Andrey Kravchenko wrote that one person had been reported injured.
Telegram channels also published footage of the strikes captured by eyewitnesses. One of the videos appears to show a strike on what is presumably the S-300/S-400 surface-to-air missile system of the 1537th Air Defense Regiment, according to the OSINT project KiberBoroshno.
Data from NASA’s FIRMS fire-tracking service indicate that a fire broke out at the presumed impact site of the S-300/S-400 missiles. Satellite imagery shows three major fire hotspots in the port area, where the oil-loading terminals are located.
According to Reuters, citing two sources, following the nighttime attack, Transneft suspended the pumping of oil to the port of Novorossiysk. The company itself declined to comment.
