At least five people were injured in the Odesa region as a result of a Russian attack during the night of October 9, the UNIAN Telegram channel reported.
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, said that four residential houses caught fire and that an energy infrastructure facility was damaged, leaving more than 30,000 customers without electricity. Power engineers are already working to restore the supply, though the company noted that repairs will take time. Specialists are now reconnecting critical infrastructure facilities and residential buildings to backup power lines wherever technically possible.
The critical infrastructure of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region is currently operating on generators, according to the city’s mayor, Vasyl Huliaiev. No deaths have been reported as a result of the overnight attack. Power remains out across the community except for the village of Burlacha Balka. “Points of Invincibility” have been deployed in the city.
