Peskov said “Moscow is ready for talks” but is “waiting for a signal”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitrii Peskov said on Monday in response to a request to comment on Trump’s latest remarks that Russia was continuing its “special military operation” against Ukraine. At the same time, he said Moscow was ready for talks with Ukraine but was waiting for a signal of readiness from Kyiv.

At the same time, in an interview with the Brazilian publication O Globo, the text of which is published on Monday by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov actually repeated Russia’s uncompromising demands, which have been announced since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. These include “international recognition of Russian ownership” of Crimea, Sevastopol and four regions of Ukraine, Ukraine’s non-admission to NATO, and “the tasks of demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.”
