Sweden officially joins NATO

Sweden has officially joined NATO. The protocol on the country’s accession to the Alliance has been published on the US State Department’s website.

“On March 7, 2024, the conditions for entry into force set forth in Article II of the Protocol to the Atlantic Treaty on the Accession of the Kingdom of Sweden were fulfilled. The Protocol entered into force on March 7, 2024,” – said in the text of the document.

Thus, Sweden officially became the 32nd NATO member state.
