President of Kazakhstan will not come to SPIEF

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will not come to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This is reported by Reuters, citing the message of the government of Kazakhstan.

Tokayev’s office refused to explain the reason for the Kazakh president’s refusal to attend SPIEF. In his place, the event will be attended by the country’s deputy prime minister and deputy economy minister.

Last year, Tokayev, speaking at the SPIEF with Vladimir Putin, said that Kazakhstan does not recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR and called them quasi-states.
