Putin allowed to hold elections in territories under martial law

Vladimir Putin has signed a law allowing elections to be held in territories where martial law is imposed. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal acts.
Previously, in these territories, where martial law was imposed, it was impossible to hold referendums, elections to bodies of state power and local self-government.
After the novelty, the CEC, after consulting with the Ministry of Defense and the Federal Security Service, may allow holding elections. The document allows elections to be held both on the entire territory where martial law is imposed, and on a part of it.
