Poland to close border for Russian and Belarusian trucks from June 1

Poland will close the border for trucks, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers, as well as for trucks registered in the territory of Belarus and Russia from June 1. The corresponding order was signed by Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski.
Restrictions are introduced until a special order.
The measure threatens to turn into a partial transport blockade for the Kaliningrad region of Russia.
Earlier, the Polish authorities imposed sanctions against 365 citizens of Belarus, banning them from entering the country and the Schengen zone; their assets in Poland will be frozen.
A new round of sanctions caused the sentence upon a Belarusian journalist of Polish origin, Andrzej Poczobut, an activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus. In Hrodna, he was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony on charges of incitement of hatred.
