Kyiv stopped sharing data on counterattack with the U.S. and European countries

The Ukrainian authorities are keeping details of the counterattack secret from Western allies, fearing possible leaks of confidential information that could jeopardize Kyiv’s position on the battlefield. This was reported by Politico, citing two European officials in contact with Ukraine’s military leadership.
The Ukrainian authorities only share basic intelligence with the United States and European countries. They do not report on the timing of the counterattack or the number of troops.
A Ukrainian lawmaker told Politico that the authorities are also not giving details about the counteroffensive to other politicians in Ukraine. “There are only a few people in the country who know this plan”, he said.
John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said Kiev does not have to notify Washington about the counteroffensive or report it in advance.
