Aleksei Moskalyov, convicted in Russia on article about “discrediting” the army, was detained in Minsk

Aleksei Moskalyov, who had previously escaped from house arrest before being sentenced in the case of “fakes,” was detained in Minsk. This is reported by “Mediazone” with reference to lawyer Dmitri Zakhvatov, who kept in touch with him after the escape. He also confirmed the information to the TV channel “Rain”.
The lawyer himself wrote in his Telegram channel that he could not accurately confirm this information.
“I have no contact with Alexei now. My phone does not answer. I can’t confirm exactly, but according to indirect data, it seems that this is the case. That’s too bad,” he said.
The SOTA newspaper, citing sources, also writes that Moskalyov has been detained. Journalists assume that he could be tracked down by his switched on phone.
The sentence to Moskalyov was announced by Yefremovsky inter-district court of Tula region on March 28, he was not present in court. The man was sentenced to two years in a minimum security penal colony for comments in “Odnoklassniki”. After the announcement, court spokeswoman Olga Dyachuk said that Moskalyov escaped from house arrest the night before the verdict.
Moskalyov is raising his 12-year-old daughter Masha alone. She was sent to an orphanage in early March. The Commission on Minors’ Affairs demanded that the girl’s father be deprived of parental rights. Court consideration of this issue is scheduled for April 6.
