Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression and the solidarity of nations standing together against the Kremlin dictatorship are facing one of the gravest tests of the entire war.
Having failed to achieve success on the battlefield, Russia is now counting on leaving Ukraine’s population without electricity, water, and communications this winter. Ukraine is preparing for a harsh winter. The United States is playing an ambiguous game with the Kremlin that brings no closer the prospect of peace and only worsens Ukraine’s position. European countries, meanwhile, are rethinking the foundations of their defense policies.
In these dangerous times, we wish to make one thing clear: a compromise with the Kremlin, founded on political self-interest and the abandonment of global solidarity, will lead to catastrophe. The path to peace cannot be built on betrayal.
We know that the peoples of Europe now face a definitive choice: help Ukraine withstand the onslaught or accept the defeat of democracies.
The Free Russia Forum is convinced that there can be no compromise.
The aggressive totalitarian regime seeking to crush Ukraine regards Europe as an existential enemy. This is not rhetorical blackmail or a game of escalation. The Kremlin will not stop.
With this understanding, we support all forms of resistance to Putin’s dictatorship that are clearly directed at supporting Ukraine in its struggle and strengthening Europe’s readiness to take fundamentally new steps that will undermine Russia’s ability to wage war and bring about its defeat.
