The First Meeting of the FFR Human Rights Group Took Place

On May 7, 2026, the first meeting of the Human Rights Group of the Free Russia Forum took place. The meeting was held online.

During the meeting, participants identified a number of priority areas for the group’s work, including the analysis of abuses of international prosecution mechanisms — above all, the use of Interpol for politically motivated purposes; support for Ukrainian prisoners and Russian citizens persecuted for their anti-war and civic stance; as well as cooperation with humanitarian structures and European institutions.

The FFR Human Rights Group operates as an expert and analytical body. Its tasks include preparing legal opinions and analytical materials, developing expert criteria for identifying politically motivated persecution, and conducting international legal advocacy.
