The Ministry of Defense of Russia proposed changes to the regulations on mobilization of citizens.
Russian Ministry of Defense proposed amendments to the provisions on the call-up of citizens on mobilization – in particular, it is proposed to inform the Russians about the mobilization by SMS. The corresponding draft was published on the federal portal of draft regulations.
The bill states that mobilization summonses will be sent not only by mail, but also via the Gosuslugi portal, personal account of a taxpayer or with the help of SMS mailing – the number will be used that is specified in the Gosuslugi profile.
The explanatory note to the project states that the changes will reduce the time of citizens’ notification on mobilization. According to the current legislation, military registration and enlistment offices will issue summonses to notify citizens of the start of mobilization duties.
